My husband insisted on watching this today. Eeew, it makes me queasy just thinking about it and what a stupid sport! Don't they know that they can rupture their stomach or ruin the esophageal sphincter or even regurgitate and choke to death? I can't imagine what they feel like when the contest is over. Its a wonder it doesn't stop their heart because of the pressure put on it by their bulging stomach. Totally gross and disgusting!
What odd little pastimes you Americans pursue. Who would have thought? A sport based on how much unhealthy food one can shove in one's mouth. Awfully outlandish, yet very simple.

While I think that frivolous pastimes can be fun and enjoyable, I have to admit that I find eating contests to be vulgar. Let's face it, it is purely a show of excess and waste to have a contest to see who can stuff the largest amount of food in the shortest period of time.
Congrats to the winner, but I do hope he takes up a better pasttime.

I watched that contest today! I can barely eat 2 hotdogs, and I eat slow so I would've lost if I was in that competition!! (LOL) 68 hotdogs is quite a lot to stuff down your stomach. I wonder do they ever get really sick!!!
