Who cares!!! My boyfriend thinks the same with me. He is eight years older than me, lol. We met at-- A g e l e s s M a t c h . c o m --a nice and free place for Younger Women and Older Men, or Older Women and Younger Men, to interact with each other.
I think there are more issues concerning the NBA's age restriction policy then a player's rights to go for his dreams. I would like to see a article about the positive aspects of the age restriction. What do the people actually running and coaching have to say? How would player develpment be handled?
He acttually benefited more by going overseas and at 18 years of age he is getting just as much education as someone in the states,I went overseas at 18 years of age and I it really helped me become more advanced mentally.and also he can do online courses while he is not playing so it was a good move for him.
Most important part of this was that he got his mom out of Compton. Nothing else matters. If youre harping on Brandon for not going to college, then go to hell.
He is young, black, and has the potential to due well in sports as my mother would say get yours BRANDON you don't have to answer to anyone but your mom so if she is going too. WONDERFUL cause him stay if he didn't go to the gangs the police would put him in jail or kill him. Lessons should have been learned O J,Michael Vick,Mike Tyson. BE REAL GET REAL YOU KNOW ITS THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!! GO TO ITALY AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE
OK - So this kid is butt-stupid and going to be worth millions. What and how he handles it mostly depends on his managers.
What the hey - he can always go back to college to get the same education others have before entering the NBA - and a good portion of them act butt-stupid mostly because they are so egotistical that they felt - 'I'm special so no classes for me.'
In the long run - maybe the maturation process will be further along by the time he retires he cn go back to college, as long as he doesn't catch a disease from the other NBA players.
Smart and courageous to do what he did. He definitely got more of an education over there than here at college. Don't get me wrong, I am all for college, in fact, I have not given my daughter any other alternative. However, when it is not something you truly have your heart set on you will fail anyway. Also, what about football, are there restrictions there?
Good for you Brandon. You found a way to do it your way. You can still get an "formal" college education. It will take a lot of hard work, but I think you've already proven that you're capable of that. You've already done it and continue to do it.
Way to go.
Nice article. Just shows there are many ways to succeed. And even more paths to get there. I applaud the kid. Restricting kids from achieving their ambition is of course selfish.
Son is def. on the right path. Get your swurve on BJ and break some ankles dog. Only thing between you and greatness is any impatience left in you, slow the game in your membrane and you will dominate all standing by in the lane.. 1
Good for Jennnings! Many European sports professionals started "playing" for a pro team at age 13-14. They have several developmental leagues there for all major sports and combine that with basic h.s education. Jennings knew he had talent to make it to the top level, and planned his future based on that. Have a fantastic debut year, Brandon!!!!
Great article. Great story about a kid who wanted more "on the job training". There are alot of things you can do right out of high school like join your local police force. It's not right for the NBA to have instituted an age restriction. I think alot of schools went to lobby the NBA to enact it out of fear of losing revenue for their schools. If this is supposed to be the land of opportunity why did this kid have to go to Europe to find it?
This is a beautiful story and I hope it works for the best for this young man.
If a person finds their niche then why try to deny it? If your a great Athlete why waste time on another so called great "idea"?
I wish I had the guts this young guy had. Instead I wasted too much of my life being someone I wasn't and was never going to be.
It's criminal that in USA a person gets stuck in some stupid "ideal". This is supposed to be a free country but that's a big messed up lie.
People sitting in cubicles; that's the USA way. Glad I'm doing my own thing finally.
Just goes to show that someone can be a sucess doing it his own way. Hope to have years of BJ highlights in a Bucks uni!
