it is good to know that foods can help in a way so one don't have to relay on pills that do the same thing.

This probably is all a bunch of bull. Some of the oldest people living that have been healthy all their life never followed any of this crap.
Thanks. The excessive and many kinds of sugars and salts inserted into foods to make us flavor-freaks and food-addicts are very harmful.
I used Turmeric for inflammation control. I simply sprinkle on my soups and or other meals. Chocolate, I buy the 40% content cocoa. Yes, salmon and walnuts i consummed these stuff too. Definitely for me NO sugar.
DARK chocolate is ok. not the other stuff. Also, caffeine of all types cause inflammation. Most processed foods of any type cause inflammations and also water retention/weight gain.
A couple of very interesting books on natural nutrition and healing: "Foods that Harm, Foods that Heal" by Reader's Digest. and " Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss.
Also, cabbage is a wonderful anti inflammatory. Especially on injuries over chronic pain. We used it several times on patients and their healing increased and pain almost eliminated. Used it as a poultice on the injured site. Romans used it for years on soldiers as it has anti- inflammatory and antibiotic properties as well as natural pain killers in it. These natural foods are good for people whose stomachs can no longer tolerate the prescription anti-inflammatories which make the stomach bleed eventually with steady moderate or heavy use.
It is not bull all processed foods, which include all of the above are bad for you. You are right old people didn't need to follow this they are living because they didn't have all of this junk food so think before you speak you just answered your own question. People are disgusting that feed their kids McDonald's, etc..everday. Did you notice when you see people today compared to the 80's and before on random tv or news show they are not as fat as when you see people today. And white rice, flour, and sugars and very bad for you it ages you as the body has to wok hard to break them down, especially white bread, and the worst bagels, they make people look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. This government shoves down all of these harmful meds but not proper nutrition, must be a catch, people should complain abiout meds not healthy foods.
If people want to change their diets or learn how to improve them they can find this information for themselves. Otherwise the gummint should get their filthy agenda filled hands out of the personal lives of citizens. That goes triple for Demoncrats and Libturds!

Well, I was doing pretty good already and didn't even know it. I just have to watch the red meat and rice and I will be doing better than ever. Great, I might get to see my first grandchild after all...
Thank you Susan for your message. I also agree that these foods are much better for us however, I am wondering now how appropriate eating foods 'RAW' might be? My eye doctor has recommended that I start eating raw foods. Now, I love veggies - all kinds - but I need them steamed with a little butter and lemon juice...I just don't think I can handle completely raw.
Perhaps it is wise to live by the simple and obvious rule that one eat fresh produce, cooked as little as possible along with other whole, raw foods, purchased locally, changing foods with the growing seasons of the same and limiting or eliminating all processed and pre-packaged foods. Eating various nuts, grains and fruits would also seem wise. Abstaining from meats, especially red meats seems wise. As Gandhi said, "Live simply so that all others may simply live", as we remember that all are one. Namaste
This is all information, I have known about. I will turn 61 this month, and I am finally learning to change my eating habits. Eat slowly, chew everything well, and don't sit all day. Find time for more exercising. I eat pretty much whatever I want, just less of it.
Hint: Since salmon in the can is already cooked, you can make salmon salad. Like tuna salad only you use salmon. Bet some of you didn't know that either!
We r responsible 4 our body in take in a day.Knowing d therapeuitc attributes of a certain food would help us establish a gud healthy diet. 1 way of boosting our immune system is 2 eat foods in raw, like d fruits & veggies,coz it will aid anti-oxidant 2 our body.
I agree on d health beneficial effects of "garlic"...It's widely been used in most Asian countries to treat different diseases.Gralic is best knwn 2 lower blood pressure, it lowers d bad choleterol in our body, helps us prevent colds & other respiratory prob. & f u have prob. about ndigestions, then taking 3 cloves of garlic 2 tyms a day would really help u relieve from that & it also prevent cancers particularly in stomach... As an xperience, garlic is best if it's eaten raw....1 way of avoiding d strong taste of it is by simply soaking it in vinegar for a couple of min. b4 u take it.... be sure dat u have ur meal done b4 doing it 2 avoid stomach prob.

I think this is good and will do everyone alot of good if followed.certain foods needs to be really avoided.i need more help in fighting diabetes type 2, i live in ghana in africa and will welcome all suggestions
