I would love to see this knuckelhead go broke. But 34 billion is probably pocket change to this guy. Then he could be like the rest of us thanks to obamanimics, and obama health care.

You've got to love this man for believing in the US being great again. It's men like this that made us great to begin and where have they all gone.

Hopefully this move will save Burlington Northern RR. Warren Buffet is one of the smartest workaholic businessman in this world and hope he will be able to create more jobs in this dying economy.

BlackJack I would imagine that is part of his bet to bring us back from the brink without being government owend. A true patriot and my hat is off to him. Those other two don't have a clue what this could mean to the economy and maybe even for them. How sad....

What a hypocrite Buffet is. I work for one of his companies in the real estate division. He cut some of our jobs and farmed them out to INDIA. Can you imagine? We need people with jobs here in this Country so they can buy homes. I didn't hear anything about opening up a real estate company in India.
What a bunch of BS.

Well, seeing as he owns part of Wells Fargo Bank, and I worked there during the Bush years, and was instructed to steal as many homes by way of ARM's, lines, refi's etc., I guess the rich really are getting richer, this time by deception.

peace!

I work for BNSF as a Locomitve Engineer and I dont think him investing in the Company is a big deal. Investors do not move freight, or buy goods, consumers do. What ever money he makes depends on you, and like him I believe that the United States is going to prevail from these hard times.

All Buffet is doing is expanding the fastest growing shipping company in America. That is China Shipping. The Chinise are taking over shipping in America. They goods in China,Ship them to America on their boats ,unload them in our ports without paying any traiffs, now they are going to load their goods on their trains and ship them all around America without paying a dine;with the help of Buffet as a frontman. It's time for the Senate and Congress to get involved. This idea of one person setting our trade policies( BUSH then/now OBAMA) has gone to far.American's Want a trade policy that favor American Companies. When you see countries like China using people like Buffet to buy and sell business interest without having to go public, change is needed.

Finally...someone who believes that the US of A is worth fighting for by taking on a cause like saving our country. All the big companies that sold-out for cheap labor and cheap suppplies should bring back all the jobs and companies back to their homeland. My veiw is: If you great copanies want to ship your companies to a 3rd world country. Then pack your bags and follow suit. We sure won't miss you.

What does the Bush years and Obama's buddy have to do with anyone telling you to steal homes? Besides it was the things that Barney Frank and other dems supported that led to people buying homes they couldn't afford.

Well- it's not that he's 'saving' the economy-- he's gambling his money on the belief that the economy will rebound. The amount he's invested has indicated to others that he truly believes it will- and consequently, they now believe it too. He's not being heroic, he's being strategic- but also taking a chance. I guess he believes it's a risk that will pay off in the long run.. and since most people don't risk that much money without some firm basis for it... and since incredibly wealthy businessmen tend to have a little more insider knowledge than the average Joe... that's a good sign for the rest of us that there may be an economic upswing soon.

I watch what buffet say's and does, he is no slacker when it comes to making (or losing $$$). He also said he belived it would be 5 years before the stock market would recover, I am watching that very close as well.

Anyone who thinks Buffet is for America, look up eminent domain and San Juaquin Valley in Calif. to see what railroad expansion is doing there and what part BNSF has in it. And remember it could always be you it is happening to.

If you Americans want to see small changes add up do this:

1. Support small businesses instead of larger foreign owned ones.

2. Buy American products if you can afford to. I know it may seem hard in this tough economy but every bit helps.

3. Hire American workers instead of low wage illegals or those who are here on a visa. This will pump wages right into the heart of those who want to put food on their families plate every night and their surrounding living areas.

4. Get back in touch with your friends, neighbors and make new acquaintances. You can boost your work by networking, trading services, make new business leads and maintain a steady income by expanding your circle of people.

I doubt Warren Buffett is looking out for Americans , he is very interested in Americas infrastructure being sold even in his home state and within 10 miles of Omaha.

Warren Buffet doesn't give a flying f*ck about the landless peasant fu*ks. He doesn't give a flying fu*k about America. He's a monopoly man who cares about himself and his bottom line. How much is enough for fu*k's sake! How many billions does one person need to feel fulfilled? At the end of his life he will go to his grave with nothing at all, just like everyone else.

Guys like him don't take chances. You can guarantee the railroad will be backed by the u.s. government on some kind of deal.
This is the kind of crap that I have been talking about. No one has our best interest "OURS" people of the Government. As soon as the Obama cronies control the four corners the string will be pulled, VOLT

If Cap and Trade Passes, Railroads which are more energy efficeint will be poised to take off, as companies look for ways to become more energy efficient, making them more profitable. Buffett will make out, but only by Government fiat.

Hasn't Warren Buffet been reading Yahoo Buzz?
Doesn't he know that the economy is gonna crash because of Obama?
Doesn't he realize our government is running out country into the ground like all those doomsayers love to preach here every single day?
Warren Buffet must be a fool to invest in the USA while under the 'worst president in history'.

Or maybe he's smart...and you all dumb.

Buffet is a musical genius. I mean, how can you beat "Cheeseburger In Paradise" and "Margaritaville" while at the same time balancing all of his huge investments. And now he owns a freakin' railroad!!!!! What an amazing guy!! Hope he comes to my town on his next tour!! I have a lot of investment questions to ask.
