Swine Flu Fears Lead to Girl-on-Girl Brawl on D Train

After a rough spring that saw as many as 20 to 40 percent of New Yorkers exposed to H1N1, subway riders have resorted to defending themselves with their fists.

Violence struck on a southbound D train Monday morning after two women got into an argument over one's refusal to cover her mouth while coughing. It ended with her spitting on the other, a punch, and the second woman dragging the first to… » Full Story on NBC New York

A handkerchief (also called handkercher or hanky) is a form of a kerchief, typically a hemmed square of thin fabric that can be carried in the pocket or purse, and which is intended for personal hygiene purposes such as wiping one's hands or face, or blowing one's nose. A handkerchief is also sometimes used as a purely decorative accessory in a suit pocket.

I know it is not cool to use a handkerchief anymore but, it is better than spitting, coughing, and blowing your nose with one finger!

What's the use of trying to be polite and ask the moron to "please cover your mouth when coughing"? People these days are so rude and ignorant. It isn't even funny.

New York? Subway? 42nd St.? Violence? And yet the image is that of Asians, all wearing masks and quietly seated. I guess you can't say, "'you know who committed another street crime" anymore.

Where's The Vaccine?

Several years ago, during the Bush administration, the pharmaceutical companies who made flu vaccines had a bad year and some batches did not work out, were in short supply and were late. The Democrats and the media jumped all over the Bush Administration, laying the blame at their feet, even though they had no control over the situation and no one died.
This year, with a proven threat in the form of the Swine Flu / H1N1, the new vaccine is in short supply, is late, this time scores of children are dying and have been for several months but the Democrats and the Media are silent. Their acceptance of the deaths and their lack of blame for Obama or incendiary accusations aimed at him or the government is quite telling and awfully political.

Given what was known last spring and the resources that could have been thrown at it but apparently were not, all we the people can ask is where's the vaccine?
