hmmm...I always did wonder why people would spend millions of their own money to run for Congress!

Strange, i thought only Republicans were RICH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union... yeah, that's it...will hold political office, ransack the Treasury to give it to financial institutions that we own stock in, and be sure to NOT make any real change to Wall Street...Good grief - throw the whole lot out and start over.

I did some research on this and it was pretty interesting. Nancy Pelosi was number 14 on the list in 2008. Alan Grayson D-Florida was #17 with more personal net worth than Ted Kennedy!!!!! He can afford to be a whack job. These people cannot understand the working man living as they do in the gov't and with the wealth they possess. Nancy charges the taxpayer $60,000 per week to fly on a private jet for herself, I think she can afford her own airfare.

If they all pitched in, the deficit could be drastically lowered. Greedy arseholes.

Hmmm and yet they seem to the the worst at paying their taxes.

Well, of course, they have big bank accounts. They don't pay their taxes, get all sorts of freebies like paid travel, meals, etc., and don't have to pay insurance premiums. Their everyday living expenses are paid for by the taxpayer.

What a Bunch of Pockets Diggers!!!

And these are the same people that tell us we can only make a certain amount of money other wise we must be punished and pay hefty taxes and share the wealth with others because it's just not fair!
I would bet most of these same politicians do not pay taxes on there millions,but if we owe 100 bucks they come knocking on our doors and garnish the paychecks.

Corruption on a big scale!! And you people only see or talk about it going on in Mexico, Russia etc. Man your Congressman and Senator is screwing you and you are asleep at the wheel. Talk about brain dead. And it is in both parties! That is why we should of have term limits, and get these lifers out.

This comes as no surprise the way our political system is set up you have to be rich to run for office.

I always wondered WHY people like Sen. Byrd and that old coot from SC Strom Thurmond stayed in office until they were nearly 100 yrs. old...guess their staff had a good thing going and kept them there..by giving PORK to their states. Guess the rolled them in and sat them down and told them how to vote. They were certainly incapacitated in their later years. MONEY TALKS!

Vote them out!!! Don't vote the $$$$$hungry aresholes back into office, set term limits and have their pay cut down to our levels, make them feel our pain!!!!

Yet, they are for the working man? PLEASE!
This is exactly why we are seeing the irresponsible, reckless handling of government. They are only interested in feathering their own nests and living the life of luxury. As long as they get theirs.

They pass legislation to benefit themselves. They think up more laws to protect THEMSELVES that stick it to regular people.

All the while they claim they are doing the will of the people? These CONS in CONgress are centered on one thing... "How is this going to affect ME?"

Come 2010 and 2012... we will all see, one way or the other, how it will affect them!

I guess, "Share the Wealth" doesn't apply to them!!!

This is another reason they all have to go !!! NEXT ELECTION ,ALL INCUMBENTS OUT !!!

They'll be getting a different kind of health care than me.

Its time to start considering whats best for this country, if you love it and want to see your kids and their kids enjoy the same FREEDOMS you've enjoyed. I think the vast majority of US citizens realize something needs too be fixed with the way health care is delivered in this country, but also DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TOUCHING ANY DECISIONS TO DO WITH THEIR HEALTH CARE !!!!!!!!!!!! So how can our ARROGANT representatives go against the will of the majority of Americans. Its about POWER and CONTROL. I think its about time for a nation wide STRIKE. Take away OUR money from them and they have NO CONTROL or POWER !!!!!!! Who is John Galt ?????

I don't mind them being rich if they understood that the average joe isn't and can't afford them being so generous with money taken from us. the more they take from us the more we have to do without. these aholes are stingy with their own money and live like kings on our dime.

Don't want to let this story pass without mentioning John Yarmuth (D-KY) who receives millions in royalties each year from a family barbecue chain (Sonny's) and yet as a "passive investor" has no influence on their reliance on minimum-wage workers or lack of corporate-subsidized health care for same.

Lives in a gated community, generously donates his congressional salary to his own preferred causes.
