Why
Since when is working for a fair living wage, wrong? Henry Ford fired his board of directors when they wanted to overprice the Model T, he said why build it, if my workers can't afford to buy it. He was also the first to pay 5.00 a day, which was an excellent wage back then. Would would rather all monies go into the pockets of the CEO's to pay for their multi-million dollar salaries and their lavish homes? I think not. You complain about large corporate salaries and you complain about decent wages for workers. Can't have it both ways.
Everyone does deserve a honest pay.But when unions make companys unprofitable all lose,at most its the people that need the jobs here in america
Ford never really was off track. They did not receive government assistance, they didn't downsize like Chrysler or GM and they weathered through a deep economic storm. Congratulations! ...But will long will they survive, if they do not begin making rock solid vehicles that do not rattle, squeek and are not durable?
THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE YOU STUMBLE YOU GET BACK UP NO GOVERNMENT NO HAND OUTS NO TAX PAYER MONEY YOU WORK IT OUT IN THE COMPANY AND IT WILL WORK ITSELF OUT. NO GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!!!! AND DID I MENTION, NO GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!! OH AND DONT FORGET NO GOVERNMENT!!!!
Yeah! My first car was a Ford (1964)and I wanted my last car to be a Ford..Ijust purchased a 2009 Escape Hybrid.....Love it
I only wish that Chrysler would have rejected the fiat deal they had shoved down their throats by Obama(Soros is a major stockholder in Fiat)Maybe if they went bankrupt they could have been scooped up by Penskee, now there is a guy who can run a company and he's a big gear-head to boot.
Thanks to the cash for clunkers tax payers bailout.
To think they won't have to pay a dime back, and their high school drop out workers still get 30 bucks an hour, I'd like to see anyone else get a job in a Ford plant without having a family connection there.
Makes me puke, I wish they would go bust and take their crappy car with them.
Chris Ford is one of the top guards in the NBA. I admired that he decided to stay in New Orleans. Really glad to see he is back on track. Although, my Nuggets ripped him a new one last year in the playoffs.
I'm a Chevrolet guy personally, but I absolutely respect Ford for not accepting Obama's taxpaer blood money allowing him to destroy them like he did Chrysler. More power to them... here's to proof that the bailout was a fraud!
Good job Toby Kieth! Next Toby Kieth will save the U.S. economy country style! And then catch Bin Laden.
Does this mean they will take the excessive greed out of the bottem line price, so us common people can aford the crap that the whole american automotive system has plagued upon themselves and to the nation.
Only idiots blame this Country's problems on working men and women. It's Conservatives and their big Corp. leaders that raped America.Unions are only necessary because of Corporate greed and old slave labor. Non -Union workers only get the money they do is because big business is afraid of Unions. They have to pay a fair wage and some benefits or in come the Unions.Conserves would have us back in sweat shops and child labor.
Lets get this straight regarding the partisan reminders of the cash for clunkers program. IT DID NOT SAVE THE AUTO INDUSTRY.
#1 it was an artificial stimulant which caused additional cars that would have been bought eventually to be bought sooner. This also caused an unatural dip in sales when it ended.
#2 The vast majority of cars sold were from foreign car manufacturers.
#3 70% of domestic cars bought were Fords because of what they had to offer.
#4 90% of GM's parts (Delphi) are manufactured out of the United States.
#5 Without the cash for clunkers Ford would have posted a profit.
does o-bomb-us- all drive a ford or is general motors still giving him a fat caddy , . we can armor proof a ford hydrid. lets start saving money .i was raised on apple pie and chevrolet.
I'll give it 5yrs there will ony 1 company selling all the car typs & it will be completly owned by outside interests. any takers on this one..
Once again Kudos to Ford.
They have proved to the WH that it doesn't take govt. bailouts and free money for their cars to stay afloat in hard times.
Their union employees could help them out by making a few concessions though. After all,.. Ford kept food on their tables while the rest of the auto industry was getting laid off.
There are plenty of unemployed Americans who would jump at the chance to get some quick training and work an assembly line for $14.00 per hour without bitching.
After all,.. it's so easy,... even a cave man could do it.
Good News! Ford is an American institution. It is a pioneer in
creating a Middle Class by giving the unskilled working class a
decent wage. Ford is a highly respected auto maker in Detroit
I hope the unions will continue to work with them as they try
to negotiate a contract that will keep Ford and much needed
jobs in the Detroit area. My guess is those workers who lost
their job due to downsizing of the workforce still walked away
with their wallets well padded. The UAW made sure of that.
If Ford can get rid of the unions and overpaid white collar workers, it will be number 1 for a long time. Power to free enterprise!!! Screw government motors!!!! If you believe in capitalism, buy a ford or a japanese car only. Anything from the commies or socialist EU should be shuned! That will make a loud noise for free enterprise!
When an upholstery division in Windsor was closed down my Canadian cousin was out of work. For almost 2 years he has been getting paid 75% of his wage while roasting his fat Canadian arse at home waiting to be recalled to a job that will never come back.
How . . why . .?
Thanks to the UAW Canadians are put on a "recall list" rather than being laid off like their American counterpart workers. Canadians ex-workers are on that free money tit for 5 years. . . . . .funded by the American taxpayer.
way to go ford. you brought yourself up. and WE did'nt have to bail you out. shows what a great idea the stimulus was.
Ford should have NEVER made the news of their profits public. Now the UAW has an excuse to ask for mor concessions in their contract. The Lord giveth, and the Union taketh away!
